Another e-service improved for people with disabilities

25/09/2015

In accordance with requirements from the Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia our company has enhanced an e-service of the State Medical Commission for the Assessment of Health Condition and Working Ability in order to ease the daily lives of people with disabilities.

Ministry of Welfare (MoW) has introduced improvements to e-service for people with disabilities, thereby improving customer service and reducing the administrative burden placed on municipalities in relation to the issuance of a conclusion that is required to receive assistance service from the municipality.

During this summer MoW made improvements to the universal e-service of the State Medical Commission for the Assessment of Health Condition and Working Ability. The improvements allow social services staff of municipalities acquire data directly from the commission without requiring citizens to submit a document in person.

Technical solution was developed as part of the European Regional Development Fund co-financed Social Policy Monitoring System Improvement project carried out by the MoW, which includes unified information system development, implementation and development of framework for e-services. E-service development of the State Medical Commission for the Assessment of Health Condition and Working Ability was done by SIA Autentica, while its implementation in 118 municipalities in Latvia was done by SIA ZZ Dats, and implementation in Daugavpils municipality - by SIA LatInSoft.

Assistant's service provided by municipalities is available for people with disabilities since January 1, 2013. Statistical information gathered by the MoW indicates that the service is in highly demanded since August 1, 2015. The service has been received by 7,899 customers and provided by 7,771 assistants.

The information is prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Welfare.
